Anyone seeking competitive employment in the Federal Government can view job openings and submit applications online at USAJOBS. Through the posting of job advertisements on USAJOBS, The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) has provided a single location to browse approximately 16,000 available jobs each day. One can apply by submitting the Federal Job Search and Application Form, OF-612, or create an online profile through the Online Resume Builder.

Persons with disabilities also have the option to apply for non-competitive appointments to federal positions through Schedule A. This is a special hiring authority for people with disabilities, where the traditional competitive application process can be avoided by hiring managers by hiring persons with disabilities on either a part-time or full-time employment. Applicants can expedite the hiring process by submitting resume and disability documentation directly to an agency’s Selective Placement Coordinator. To learn more about recruitment and retention procedures in the Federal Government, please visit OPM's Resources for People with Disabilities. For additional information on Schedule A, visit the ABCs of Schedule A.
