Transcription

Transcription devices or services are used to assist individuals with communication limitations that prevent them from completing essential job tasks. They accomplish this by adding captions to audio and video content.

Communication access real-time translation (CART) (2)

CAP provides CART services for Department of Defense (DoD) employees who are deaf and hard of hearing who attend job related training courses lasting four hours or longer, but not to exceed two weeks. CAP has specific requirements that must be met in order to provide CART services. All requests will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

Captioning devices are used to assist individuals who have hearing limitations that prevent them from accomplishing essential job functions. They accomplish this by adding captions to video content. This category includes items such as caption encoders, caption decoders, and captioning software.
