The Z80 Videophone is a video communications device that allows an individual to use sign language to communicate with others over the telephone. This videophone has an adjustable, high-definition camera that displays the individual using the device. The videophone screen can display a relay interpreter for outgoing and incoming calls to telephones that only receive sound, or it can show video of another person using a similar video communication device. The Z80 Videophone is 508 compliant and has built-in software that includes a 10-digit number, required by the Federal Communication Commission (FCC), video-mail, and alerting notification system for the DoD Deaf and hard-of-hearing employees. Individuals who are Deaf or hard-of-hearing, who know sign language, and must speak with other individuals by telephone to accomplish essential job tasks could benefit from this device.
