Description
The Kurzweil 1000 (USB) is scanner and reader software in USB form. The Kurzweil 1000 uses Optical Character Recognition (USB) software to convert electronic images and text into speech. The Kurzweil 1000 requires a separate scanner to import printed documents into an electronic format to provide the text-to-speech output. The Kurzweil 1000 does not come with a scanner. Individuals can also use Kurzweil 1000 to create and edit documents, add bookmarks to documents, fill out forms, and keep track of appointments. Individuals who are blind or have extremely low vision and are required to access electronic information as a part of their required job functions may benefit from this device.
