Description

The Andrea NC-181 V/M USB is a headset/microphone. This item connects to the computer via the USB-C port and it can be used with speech recognition applications. It is worn over the head and the noise cancelling microphone can be place on the left or right side of the individual using it. This headset only covers one ear and audio feedback from the computer will be transmitted through the earpiece. Individuals who have dexterity limitations that require them to use speech recognition software to perform essential job functions could benefit from this device. This device can come with either a USB-A or USB-C connection cable. Most individuals will require the USB-A, but please check with your agency and IT department to ensure the correct option is selected. The USB-A has a much larger physical connector than the Type C, and Type C is around the same size as a micro-USB connector (a micro-USB connector is very similar to the charger on iPhones and Android phones). For Type C, unlike Type A, you won't need to try and insert it, flip it over and then flip it over once more just to find the right orientation when trying to make a connection, but rather it can be successfully inserted from either side. The USB-A is the one common form that has been in use for the past 10 years and is more familiar to most users.
