The Presidential Memorandum, “Return to In-Person Work” released on January 20, 2025, required the DoD along with all departments and agencies in the executive branch, to take all necessary steps to terminate remote work arrangements and require employees to return to work in-person at their respective duty stations on a full-time basis. As a result, CAP has updated our guidelines and will require assistive technology accommodations for both DoD civilian employees and Service members to be shipped to the agency/duty location.
The inclusion of a home address on a CAP request form will result in a follow-up from a CAP team member requesting the agency/duty location address. To expedite the processing of accommodation requests, CAP requests that the agency/duty location address be used upon submission.
Exceptions:
- When an individual is teleworking as a form of reasonable accommodation (reasonable accommodation telework agreement may be requested for verification).
- When an individual is approved for remote work (documentation/confirmation may be requested for verification).
- When the request is for a Service member who is in the process of medically separating from active duty.
