CAP Requirements for Large-Screen Monitors

Effective immediately, CAP provides large monitors only to individuals with a medically documented visual condition. Medical documentation must be submitted to CAP at the time of the request for an accepted medical condition listed below. Monitor options include only those listed on the CAP website (www.cap.mil). 

Accepted medical conditions include Glaucoma, Cataract, Diabetic Retinopathy, Age-related Macular Degeneration, Corneal Opacity or a serious visual impairment with vision at 20/200 or higher.

Unaccepted medical conditions include Astigmatism, Computer Vision Syndrome, Dry Eye Syndrome, Hyperopia (farsightedness), Myopia (nearsightedness), and any other condition associated with the natural aging process. Employees experiencing any of these conditions should contact their agency Disability Program Manager or Command for further assistance.
